This tour is designed for those who want to see, at a leisurely pace and in a small group, the more secluded but culturally significant sites in the two art capitals of Japan – the imperial capital of Kyoto and what is described as “Little Kyoto” - Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa prefecture. Drawing upon our extensive knowledge of these two cities we will visit the less crowded cultural sites and gardens as well as cutting edge modern museums exhibiting the best of contemporary art. One of the highlights of this tour will be a two-night stay in the Okazaki district outside of Kyoto where you will be able to luxuriate in your private hot springs bath in a modern version of a traditional Japanese inn. It is only a short walking distance from here to Kyoto’s most significant art and cultural places.
